The classes offered by Flotilla 41 are open to the public. The courses are taught by qualified Coast Guard Auxiliarists. Upon passing an examination at the conclusion of each course, students will receive a certificate which is accepted by some insurance companies for providing a discount.

Classes are usually taught at the Jubilee Yacht Club, in Beverly. Scheduled classes include:

Boating Skills and Seamanship (BS&S) Course

When: Wednesday evenings September 16th through November 18th  
              7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Where: Jubilee Yacht Club, 126 Water Street, Beverly, MA

The U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary's Boating Skills and Seamanship (BS&S) course is a comprehensive course designed for both the experienced and the novice boater. The core course, now in the brand new 13th edition, consists of 6 required two hour lessons, plus 3 elective lessons on basic navigation. The cost of the course is $75.00 and participants will be provided with a manual and a nautical training chart.

This class will satisfy the current requirements of the State of New Hampshire's mandtory boating education law. Some insurance companies may offer discounts on boat insurance to individuals who successfully complete this course. Individuals who successfully complete the course and exam are awarded certificates and cards.
